Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent. Previous marketing research, interviewing or customer service experience preferred. Must be able to approach respondents in a professional manner and properly follow instructions given by supervisors. Must be proficient in conducting on-site personal interviews and telephone surveys. Must possess intermediate to advanced level skill using personal computer word processing and spreadsheet applications. Must be able to read aloud survey questions clearly to be understood by respondents. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Bilingual skills may be preferred in order to meet specific bilingual staffing needs.
**This position is Part-Time 15 to 20 Hours a week.**  This is an On-Call position and the hours are not guaranteed.
Shifts will vary depending on demand.   You may be scheduled to work anywhere between 6 a.m. to 12 midnight but will not exceed 20 hours a week.

Basic Functions
     
    SUMMARY
Conducts market research and compiles transit related ridership data from patrons of the Authority’s service communities.  Utilizes various data collection methods and electronic mobile technologies to accurately collect and record survey data.  Reviews work thoroughly for timely completion, accuracy, and submission.  Serves as a highly visible representative of the Research Unit and must be able to unbiasedly solicit feedback from patrons in a courteous, professional and confidential manner.  Must travel between different locations and consistently available for flexible on-call projects throughout the contract period. Work hours may vary including mornings, evenings and weekends.  Outdoor position with constant exposure to various weather conditions and elements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Accurately collects, records, and reviews all required data collected from patrons using various electronic mobile technology.  Follows established guidelines for data collection and research projects.
  2. Interacts effectively and professionally with patrons to provide unbiased information regarding the project methodology, survey tool, and process and solicit feedback.
  3. Maintains high level of confidentiality of all data collected.
  4. Anticipates unusual situations and make quick and responsible decisions when prompted.
  5. Develops an awareness of quality and production requirements and maximizes efforts to meet or exceed requirements to meet project’s completion target on a continuous basis.
  6. Exhibits the flexibility necessary to multi-task, and perform clerical duties as needed.
  7. Adheres to Dress Code as outlined in R&A Data Collection Manual at all times.
  8. Attends all schedule meetings and training sessions regarding a research project.
  9. Submits accurate production and corresponding reports, such as timesheets, and other prescribed company documents on a timely basis.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  Must be comfortable speaking with patrons on an ongoing basis.  Must be capable of understanding the goal and purpose of research.  Must be able to read and interpret survey questionnaires, methodologies, and procedure manuals.  Must have good reading and diction skills with cultural literacy.   Must have basic computer literacy and data entry accuracy.  Must have ability to effectively interact with patrons.  Must have legible handwriting.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
